Bellamy Young Books Her First Post-Scandal Role!

Calling all Scandal fans! Bellamy Young is officially trading in White House drama for... suburban Arizona?

TVLine reports that Young has been cast as the lead in a new ABC pilot comedy titled False Prophets. That's right, now that Scandal is about to come to a close, Young is switching things up and heading to funnier pastures.

False Prophets follows a group of suburban housewives in Arizona as they clash and battle for supremacy within the multi-level cosmetics industry. Young will play Laura, a single mom with two kids, who's just getting into the cosmetics business. Kosha Patel (Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) and Kapil Talwalkar have already signed on to False Prophets as series regulars.

If all goes well for the budding new series, fans of Bellamy Young will have barely said goodbye to Mellie before they're introduced to her new character, Laura.

Scandal airs Thursdays at 9/8c on ABC.
