Aziz Ansari: Actor, comedian, altruist. The Parks and Recreation star took to Twitter this week to share his thoughts on how to make the world a better place (at least when it comes to the film industry).
"With all due respect, people of China, stop seeing Transformers so much, you're making movies worse for everyone!" Ansari wrote.
In its opening weekend, Transformers: Age of Extinction, the fourth film in the franchise, earned $300 million worldwide, $100 million of which came from the United States and another $90 million from China. The blockbuster has since gone on to become China's highest-grossing film of all time, surpassing Avatar. Yet Transformers: Age of Extinction has been critically panned, receiving only a meager 17% Rotten Tomatoes rating. As Ansari points out, the only way to outlive Transformers is to stop paying $20 every time Michael Bay promises to explode alien robots. We know it might be hard, but be strong. Ansari believes in you and so do we.
