"We had a great relationship. I know she knows how much I loved her and she loved me, and I am so sad that she's gone. She was so funny, she could make me laugh on my absolute worst day. She was just a really fun person to be around," her sister Jessica Ross told MTV News.

Catfish cohost Max Joseph also shared his condolences on Twitter.

Sawyer first appeared on Catfish in 2013 after contacting Nev Schulman and Joseph about wanting to meet her longtime digital partner, Michael. Both used altered photographs while talking to each other online but were able to forge a real relationship after the show finished filming. Michael passed away in October 2013 from a pulmonary embolism.

Sawyer recently came back to the show for a catch up show, where she revealed she was staying in a sober living facility to battle her struggle with addiction. Her sister confirmed that Sawyer had completed the program and was living by herself at the time of her death.
