"Nobody sees it coming. It's going to be so rad."
We've spent our fair share of time speculating about how Arrow will end when the curtain falls on its final season, but the stars of the show apparently don't have to speculate at all.
TV Guide spoke with both Stephen Amell and David Ramsey at the Television Critics Association summer press tour earlier this month about their ideal endings for Oliver and Diggle, and as it turns out, they've both been let in on the secret of how their characters' stories will end.
"I think the ending is true to who he is," Ramsey said of the end of Diggle's journey on Arrow. "I think it is true to his storyline, and just like Oliver's ending, I think people are going to be pleased with it."
"It's what I want," Amell said of his own ending. "I pitched it for a very long time. It's what I want, but concurrently, that doesn't mean that there aren't surprises along the way. I was floored when I got the pitch for the crossover. I don't see it coming -- nobody sees it coming. It's going to be so rad."
Here's When the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths Crossover Will Premiere
We're not sure how rad Oliver's inevitable death in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover can be, but we're holding out hope that Amell's reference to something we'll never see coming leaves room for hope that somehow we'll be as satisfied with Oliver's ending as he so clearly is.
Arrow premieres Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 9/8c on The CW.
