We love us a good hallucination cameo!

Arrow is bringing back a fan favorite next week, and we're freaking out over here!

New photos from Arrow's upcoming episode, "Living Proof," reveal the return of the dearly departed Tommy Merlyn (Colin Donnell), Oliver's best friend who tragically perished in the Season 1 finale. Tommy has appeared a few times over the years via flashbacks or hallucinations, and we're willing to put our money on the latter for this particular appearance.

At the end of last week's episode, Emiko (Sea Shimooka) dropped a building on Team Arrow, and Oliver (Stephen Amell) was last seen trapped and unconscious under a pile of rubble. The photos seem to indicate that he gets himself out of that conundrum and regains consciousness, but the appearance of Tommy Merlyn makes us think he might have taken a blow to the head, making him see visions of his old buddy. We love us a good hallucination cameo!

It's also kind of fitting that Tommy would reappear just as Oliver has learned the truth about Emiko and her role in the sinking of the Queen's Gambit, which ultimately led to their father's death. Having a friendly face to hash the matter out with, even if that face belongs to someone no longer in the world of the living, could be exactly what Oliver needs to figure out how to handle his Emiko problem.

Arrow airs Mondays at 9/8c on The CW.
