Arrow OG Paul Blackthorne Is Leaving the Show

Star City will soon have to make due without Det. Lance (Paul Blackthorne) safeguarding the city. Per the Hollywood Reporter, the Arrow OG will be exiting the show at the end of the current season.

The embattled detective -- who has been with the show since Season 1 -- has had a tumultuous journey, to say the least, after struggling with alcoholism, watching both his daughters die and come back (sometimes as alternate versions) only to die again, and nearly being killed himself on numerous occasions. It looks like he's finally had enough and will bow out of the good fight.

Blackthorne is the latest original cast member to exit after Willa Holland departed from the series in March. On the show, Thea left the city to right her father's many wrongs. While we don't know how Lance will be written off, we hope he'll finally get his happy ending. After all, he's more than earned it!

The series will return for Season 7 this fall with remaining original cast members Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards and David Ramsey.

Arrow airs Thursdays at 9/8c on The CW.
