Arrow Scoop: Should Oliver and Felicity Get Together?

Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) arrival in Starling City didn't just facilitate the introduction of the Flash on Arrow. It also sparked new feelings in Oliver (Stephen Amell) for his go-to gal Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). Fans have long waited for this working relationship to develop into something more, but will they actually take the next step?

"Oliver isn't quite sure what he feels," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says. "He knows he feels something for her, but can't quite define it. He's surprised in [the midseason finale] when Dig [David Ramsey] points out to him that what [he's] feeling right now might actually be termed jealousy. For Felicity, she doesn't want to like Oliver in a way because she finds him unattainable, and in a way he is unattainable especially after... he said that it's probably better that [he's] not with somebody he cares about. While she really does like Barry, I think she probably throws even more into it because now he's somebody who is available."

Felicity's conflicting feelings for Barry will actually cause more trouble for Team Arrow when The CW series returns in January. "The fallout from Episode 9 carries over into the next episodes as far as the Oliver and Felicity relationship is concerned," Kreisberg continues. "Barry has had a profound effect on them, and that will carry through."

Diehard fans of the comics have worried that Oliver's budding relationship with Felicity may get in the way of the end game, in which Oliver eventually marries Laurel (Katie Cassidy). But there is no denying the chemistry between Oliver and Felicity, even if it's just a Lana Lang-type relationship on the way to Superman's ultimate love, Lois Lane.
