Grande performed the Queen of Soul's classic "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman"
Singer Ariana Grande's big week on late night continued with an appearance on Thursday's episode of The Tonight Show, but it wasn't funny like her Late Late Show spots. Instead, she paid teary-eyed tribute to legendary singer Aretha Franklin, who had died earlier that day at age 76 from pancreatic cancer.
"I met her a few times," Grande told host Jimmy Fallon before her performance. "We sang at the White House and she was so sweet and she was so cute, and I was like, 'How are you a real person?' It's an honor to have met her."
Then the Dangerous Woman performed the Queen of Soul's iconic song "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" with the Roots.
Before the show, Grande posted a photo of herself and Franklin together.
Grande's album Sweetener is out today.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on NBC.
