Ann Curry "Wasn't Good at the Job," New Book Claims

Why was Ann Curry fired? Was it at Matt Lauer's behest? Or due to Today's struggling ratings perhaps? According to New York Times reporter Brian Stelter, it was far more simple than that: Curry, frankly, "wasn't good at the job."

In an interview this week with Business Insider, Stelter discussed his new book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV and placed much of the blame for Today's ratings drop and Curry's firing at the feet of the supposedly disappointing host herself.

In the book, Stelter also writes of the former Today co-anchor being bullied and mocked by producers, but downplayed it in the interview, calling it "playful banter" that Curry misconstrued.
