Instead of an array of nude models, this year Leibovitz decided to showcase a diverse set of clothed women across all fields. Of the 13 women photographed - which include Yoko Ono, Serena Williams and Patti Smith - Schumer is the only one who went nearly nude.
"It was as if she didn't get the memo, but if you look at her, that was a true moment; she actually picked up the cup of coffee and started drinking it. That was her coffee, and I said, 'That's it!'" Leibovitz told Vogue.
"I felt I looked more beautiful than I've ever felt in my life, and I felt like it looked like me," the comedian said in a promo video for the calendar. Though on Twitter, Schumer took a different tack in describing the photo in question.
