Amy Poehler Shares Heartfelt Video Message in Wake of Boston Bombing

Amy Poehler is one of Hollywood's favorite funny ladies, but this week the comedian tackled the latest episode of "Ask Amy" with a heavy heart.

In the candid video, Poehler, a Newton, Mass. native and Boston College alum, advised a young girl who felt left out because she didn't keep up with popular viral videos.

"What should we be looking at and watching these days?" the Parks and Recreation star wondered. "Because in light of recent events, I've — and I'm sure you have — and the rest of the world, if not America, have been looking at photographs that have been really hard to take.  I've been thinking about what these images do to our brains and to our heart and how we should look at them, and when we should look at them."

"What do I want my eye to see?" she continued. "How can I keep myself informed and connected without exploiting people and harming myself?"

"I kind of feel like my eyes need a break. Don't you? And if you do, then my encouragement to you and to myself would be to take it. That it's okay to not be looking at what everyone else is looking at all the time, to know what you're ready to see and not to see and to be okay with letting some things rest in peace."

"I don't know if any of this makes sense," Poehler concluded. "I love you, Boston. See you soon."
