American Idol Results: Who Went Home?

American Idol is getting cutthroat.

On Thursday, the Fox reality competition show sent home another singer after a night of breakup and make-up love songs. Who gave love a bad name? Who will head to the coveted hometown visits? Skip to the bottom for results:

Which judges are returning to American Idol?

The night's most puzzling highlight: Harry Connick, Jr. goes crazy thanks to a platter full of beignets and begins flinging the powdered sugar-covered pastries out into the audience. This is the quality of the entertainment you get when it's only a 30-minute elimination show.

That means either Alex or Jessica could go home. Although no one can doubt Alex's technical skills, he's been accused of doing the same thing over and over. Jessica has the better voice, but has had a tough time with bad song choices and showing emotion in her performances.

In the end, it's Jessica who is going home to Slapout, Ala. So long, Jessica! We'll miss your Stevie Nicks-ness.
