Music producer Dr. Luke is the latest rumored addition to the American Idol judges table.

Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwalk, is reportedly in negotiations to join Season 13, according to Deadline.com. Fox did not immediately respond to TVGuide.com's request for comment.

The producer-songwriter, who got his start as Saturday Night Live's lead guitarist in 1997, has produced more than 20 chart-topping songs, including Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone," Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" and Britney Spears' "Circus."

Will.i.am has also reportedly been in the running for the position, but the site says talks stalled between Idol and the Black Eyed Peas frontman, who is now negotiating a return to The Voice UK as a mentor. If Dr. Luke joins Idol, he would follow in the footsteps of original judge and fellow music producer Simon Cowell.

Dr. Luke would reportedly sit alongside Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez, who is rumored to be returning after serving as a judge alongside Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson for Seasons 10 and 11. Mariah Carey, fellow new judge Nicki Minaj and series veteran Jackson, all announced that they would not be returning for Season 13.
