Sarah Paulson's New American Horror Story Character Is Seriously Creeping Us Out

Meet Venable in this eerie new teaser

Sarah Paulson, who apparently just likes to one-up herself at this point, is taking on triple duty in American Horror Story: Apocalypse. The acclaimed actress will not only be reprising her roles as Murder House's Billie Dean and Coven's Cordelia, but she'll also debut a new character, the mysterious Venable.

Well, we just got our first look at Paulson's new role, and let's just say we're torn between fear and obsession, which is pretty much how everything goes with this show. In the 30-second teaser, Paulson looks like she just stepped out of Videodrome, decked out in an '80s pantsuit and starring directly into the camera as she turns a lottery drum.

"Now is your chance to be one of the few remaining," Paulson declares. "This is your chance to survive. We'll find you soon."

If you're thinking Venable probably works for some shady organization that aims to select who will be protected in the apocalypse and who will be left to die, we bet you're right. Other answers we'd accept: Michael Langdon's (Cody Fern) spokeswoman or The Hunger Games' number one fan.

For AHS fans who are dying to get even closer to the truth of this season without having to wait for the premiere, the teaser prompts the viewer to visit The BeginningIsNear.TV, a website that promises "decimation is upon us" and features a fan contest to "attend an exclusive AHS: Apocalypse experience." Hopefully whatever experience they're teasing doesn't actually involve a deadly game of chance, but you never really know.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse premieres Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 10/9c on FX.
