Unlike Amazon's previous forays into original programming, all ten episodes of Transparent will be made available at once in both the U.S. and U.K.
Emmys fashion: Hits and misses
Written, directed and executive produced by Jill Soloway, Trasnparent is about a family whose secrets begin to unravel once its patriarch (Jeffrrey Tambor) comes out as transgender. The dark comedy stars Judith Light as Maura's (Tambor) ex-wife Shelly and Gaby Hoffmann, Jay Duplass and Amy Landecker as the couple's children.
Transparent will also feature recurring appearances by Melora Hardin, Bradley Whitford, Carrie Brownstein, Kathryn Hahn, Alexandra Billings and Rob Huebel.
