A lawyer for Amanda Bynes has claimed that she's medically unfit to stand trial in her DUI case, TMZ.com reports.
Bynes, 27, was expected in court on Tuesday for her 2012 DUI arrest, but her lawyer made the case that Bynes does not have the mental capacity to stand trial. The case was transferred to mental health court, where a judge will need to determine whether she is mentally competent for a trial.
Amanda Bynes' increasingly erratic behavior: A timeline
In July, Bynes was hospitalized on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold after she started a small fire in a resident's driveway in Thousand Oaks, Calif. The night before, Bynes was involved in an altercation with a cab driver after she was denied entry into a nearby retirement community, from which called her a cab. She was kicked out of the cab after saying that she didn't have money, and police were subsequently called. The three-day hold was extended to two weeks to allow doctors to properly diagnose her. The hold was later extended to 30 days.
Bynes is now receiving long-term treatment after being placed under a conservatorship.
