Alyson Hannigan may soon be headed back to your television.

The actress is set to star in the multi-camera comedy pilot Man of the House for ABC, Varietyreports. She'll step into the role of Jessie, a compassionate social worker who is stunned when her husband suddenly leaves her and their two kids, a teenage football star and a pre-teen girl.

Left to pick up the pieces alone, she opts to move in with her self-absorbed sister, Charli, who also happens to be a major ball-buster. Even worse, Jessie and her kids will have to deal with her sister's far more wicked daughter. While it's currently unknown who will be starring alongside Hannigan, we do know that the series will be produced by Scandalstar Kerry Washington.

Depending on who you ask, Hannigan is best known for playing the teacher-turned-art consultant Lily Aldrin on How I Met Your Mother, hypersexual band geek Michelle Flaherty in the American Pie franchise or the powerful witch Willow Rosenberg in Buffy the Vampire Slayer opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar.

She currently hosts Penn & Teller: Fool Uson The CW network.
