Will Alexa PenaVega Take Tamar Braxton's Place on Dancing With The Stars?

Tamar Braxton is officially out of Dancing with the Stars due to medical issues, and rumors that Alexa PenaVega may be taking her place have already begun.

People reports that producers are discussing bringing the actress, who was eliminated on Monday, back to take Braxton's place in the Top 5. PenaVega received two perfect scores before her elimination but was sent home with her partner Mark Ballas based on her lower scores and fan votes from the week before.

If PenaVega is reinstated, she will join her husband Carlos, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, Bindi Irwin and veteran Alek Skarlatos in the running for the Season 21 Mirror Ball trophy.

TV Guide reached out to ABC for comment but had not heard back at time of publishing.

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
