Alex Trebek Roasts Jeopardy Contestants For Being Clueless About Football

Perhaps Will Ferrell's sardonic impression of Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek on Saturday Night Live wasn't too far off from the real deal. Trebek channeled Ferrell's exasperated sarcasm on Thursday's show after a trio of contestants proved to be utterly clueless about football.

"I can tell you guys are big football fans," he quipped after no one could answer a question about an option play. As the contestants continued to miss question after question about America's game, Trebek grew more impatient, even providing some of the answers. And when it came time for $1,000 clue, Trebek left them with one final, memorable dig. "If you ring in and get this one, I will die," he joked. They, of course, did not.

While no one was hurt during this hilarious but brutal roasting by one of television's most beloved figures, those poor, hapless souls did learn a valuable lesson: don't come in Trebek's yard if you know nothing about football.
