Remember on 30 Rock when Alec Baldwin and Will Arnett had a "talking-like-this" contest? See what feat of masculine bravado Baldwin has up his sleeve now... after the jump.

Remember on 30 Rock when Alec Baldwin and Will Arnett had a "talking-like-this" contest?

Well, there's a new baritone in town with which 30 Rock's Jack Donaghy must contend. Robert Osborne, the silver-haired movie buff from Turner Classic Movies, will go toe to toe with Baldwin, the scotch-and-soda narrator of The Royal Tenenbaums, when they co-host the upcoming season of The Essentials. TCM frequently pairs screenings of classic Hollywood films with commentary by Osborne and his guest co-hosts, which in the past have included actors Cybill Shepherd and Alfred Molina, author Gore Vidal, Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter and director Peter Bogdanovich.

Baldwin inherits the coveted Essentials spot from actress Rose McGowan, who most recently verbally sparred with Osborne about such classic films as Now, Voyager, The Great Escape, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Grindhouse (except not that last one).

While we're on the subject, which of Baldwin's many flicks do you think qualify as "essential"? My picks: Married to the Mob, Glengarry Glen Ross, Beetle Juice, and State and Main. Now you.
