It turns out Agent Coulson being dead was the least of the surprises Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.had in store for viewers upon the show's return.

When Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) and Coulson (Clark Gregg) get a lead on the former partner of the dead agent who apparently dropped Skye (Chloe Bennet) off at an orphanage, they uncover a scary truth about their fellow teammember: She is actually an 084 who may have powers, though the agents never saw her exhibit them.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: What really happened to Agent Coulson?

Skye's whole family was murdered and the agents who saved her were all eventually bumped off by whomever killed Skye's family. S.H.I.E.L.D. then placed Skye in foster care and ordered her to be moved around every few months to keep her safe.

Fortunately, Coulson tells Skye the truth about her family fairly quickly, so we won't have to wait long for that reveal. But does she know her potential for powers? Is this Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s attempt at putting the super in their super-less super series?

What did you think of the Skye reveal?
