"They did ask me, but I did say no"

Just like that guy from High School Musical 2, the Grammy- and Academy Award-winning Adele does not dance, and that's one of the reasons you won't be seeing the "Hello" singer perform during the halftime show at the Super Bowl in 2017.

"First of all, I'd like to tell you I'm not doing the Super Bowl," she told a sold-out crowd Saturday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles (as seen in the video above). "I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don't really -- I don't dance or anything like that. They were very kind: They did ask me, but I did say no."

Well, she's not wrong.

And at least they can say that they tried.

Super Bowl 51 is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 on Fox.
