ABC Picks Up Kiefer Sutherland's Designated Survivor To Series

ABC picked up Designated Survivor, which stars Kiefer Sutherland, to series, TVGuide.com has learned.
The new conspiracy thriller will see Sutherland play Tom Kirkman, a low-level cabinet member who unexpectedly becomes President of The United States following a devastating attack on Washington D.C. The series also stars Natascha McElhone as Alex Kirkman, Kirkman's wife; Maggie Q as Hannah Watts, the lead F.B.I. agent handling the attack on D.C.; and Kal Penn as Seth Wheeler, Kirkman's speech writer.
24: Legacy Is Officially Bringing the CTU Back To Fox.
It's unclear what this means for Sutherland's rumored presence on the recently ordered to series 24: Legacy at Fox. While the actor originally ruled out any possibility of appearing in the new series, he has since joined the show as a producer. Will he have time to even appear, though? Either way, it's great to see Kiefer back on the small screen once again.
