The New Adventures of Old Christine will continue in the 2009-10 TV season. It's just a matter of where.

ABC has inked a deal with Warner Bros. TV to grant Old Christine a full, 22-episode order if CBS opts not to renew the comedy for a fifth season, says the Hollywood Reporter. ABC — whose entertainment president, Stephen McPherson, is a big Christine fan — made a similar play last year, only to have CBS give the old gal another go. The Alphabet was more successful in this tactic, however, when it came to inheriting Scrubs from NBC.

Technically, the Julia Louis-Dreyfus starrer is still "on the bubble" — CBS thus far has only officially picked up The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, The Amazing Race and Survivor. But the buzz is that the Eye will hook up with the divorcée once more, and yet again at the last minute. Such is the agonizing fate endured spring after spring by sister CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother.
