Doctor Who's Karen Gillan Lands Lead in ABC's Selfie

Karen Gillan has been tapped to star in ABC's comedy pilot Selfie, TVGuide.com has learned.

The Doctor Whoalum will play Eliza Dooley, a self-obsessed woman who is more concerned with "likes" than being liked. But when she becomes the subject of a viral video made after a humiliating public breakup, she hires a marketing expert at her company to help restore her image.

Suburgatory creator Emily Kapnek will write and executive-produce the project, which is inspired by My Fair Lady.

Gillan played Amy Pond on Doctor Who for three years before leaving in 2012. She recently appeared on Adult Swim's NTSF: SD:SUV::, andwill next star in Guardians of the Galaxy and Oculus.
