ABC Family Renews Make It Or Break It; Orders More Lying Game; Cancels Georgia

ABC Family has renewed Make It Or Break It and given a 12-episode back-order to The Lying Game, the network announced Friday. In addition, the network has picked up four new pilots.
However, State of Georgia joins The Nine Lives of Chloe King in the canceled pile, Deadline reports. Make It Or Break It wrapped its second season in May, while The Lying Game is in the middle of its 10-episode first season.

"ABC Family expanded its schedule to present three nights of original programming this summer, and we saw our most successful on record, one that gave us our very own 'triple-threat' — Switched at Birth, The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Pretty Little Liars," ABC Family President Michael Riley said in a statement. "Joining this group of series will be another season of Make It or Break It, just in time to ignite Olympic fever, and a back-order of The Lying Game. Our momentum continues to grow, and I'm thrilled with the strength of our schedule which includes a great mix of returning favorites, breakout series and what are sure to be new hits."The new pilots include two dramas and two comedies. Bunheads, a drama from Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, is about a Las Vegas showgirl who marries a man on a whim and moves to his small town to work with her mother-in-law at her dance school."I spent 20 years of my life with my hair in a bun. I was supposed to be a dancer," Sherman-Palladino said. "My mother was a dancer. Her greatest heartbreak was when I got on 'Roseanne'. So, while writing this will never equal playing 'Rumpelteazer' in a bus and truck tour of Cats, it does let me to tip my hat to a really special time in my life."

Intercept is an action-thriller about a group of college students who get roped into solving crimes when one of them creates a device that intercepts conversations throughout the West Coast.Baby Daddy, from executive producer Dan Berendsen of the just-canceled The Nine Lives of Chloe King, is a half-hour comedy follows Ben, a twentysomething who's thrown into fatherhood when his ex leaves their daughter on his doorstep. Village People is a comedy about a single, career woman who adopts a baby from a teen mom and ends up caring for both of them.
