2016 Tony Award Nominations: Steve Martin, Danielle Brooks Forced to Compete Against Hamilton

Does anyone else even stand a chance?

Sadie Gennis

The nominees for the 2016 Tony Awards were announced Tuesday morning, and my condolences for everyone who isn't in Hamilton.

The breakout musical got a record 16 total nominations, including for Best Musical, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Actress in a Musical and Best Original Score.

Lin-Manuel Miranda's historical hip-hop musical will likely sweep the ceremony, which doesn't bode well for everyone competing against it, including Zachary Levi, Steve Martin, Jane Krakowski and Danielle Brooks.

Host James Corden should also get his Smash jokes ready, since stars Megan Hilty and Leslie Odom Jr. are both nominated for their starring roles in Noises Off and Hamilton, respectively.

The Tony Awards will air live on Sunday, June 12 at 8/7c on CBS and CBS All Access.
