Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift Top Grammys

Kendrick Lamar topped Monday's Grammy Awards with five trophies, while Taylor Swift made history.

Six years after winning album of the year for Fearless, Swift became the first female artist to win the category twice, with 1989 taking the top prize. 1989 also won pop vocal album and Swift earned a third trophy - her 10th overall - for best music video for "Bad Blood," which she shared with Lamar.

Swift used her acceptance speech to throw some major shade at Kanye West, who, lest we forget, had this choice line in his new song "Famous": "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous."

"And as the first woman to win album of the year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame," she said.

"But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday, when you get where you are going, you will look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment."

Lamar, who led the field with 11 nominations, won the first award of the telecast: best rap album for To Pimp a Butterfly. In addition to best music video, he received three other awards in the pre-show: rap performance and rap song for "Alright," and rap/sung collaboration for "These Walls" with Bilal, Anna Wise and Thundercat.

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" won record of the year to go with their pop duo/group performance win from earlier in the night.

Best new artist went to Meghan Trainor, while Ed Sheeran's ballad "Thinking Out Loud" won song of the year - awarded to songwriters - for Sheeran and co-writer Amy Wadge and pop vocal performance.

After a rousing performance of "Alexander Hamilton," the cast of Hamilton won best musical theater album, which led to an even better performance from creator/star Lin-Manuel Miranda, who rapped his acceptance speech.
