Carol topped the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards Saturday night, which honored celebrities, television shows and movies that best represented LGBT issues in 2015.
The movie, based on the novel The Price of Salt, took home the top prize for Outstanding Film, thanks to Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara's turns as Carol and Therese - two women who fall in love in 1950s New York. Netflix's Sense8 took home the Outstanding Drama Series prize over How to Get Away with Murderand GLAAD favoriteThe Fosters.

Demi Lovatoreceived the Vangauard Award, which honors LGBT allies who have publicly stood up for LGBT issues. "I always knew that if I made it as a singer that I would need to use my voice for so much more than just singing," Lovato said as she accepted her trophy.
Orange Is the New Black star Ruby Rose was also honored with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, which is given to an LGBT person in media who has "made a difference in promoting equality and acceptance."
