Breaking BadThe Good Wife and lots of fresh faces led Thursday's Golden Globe Awards, while defending champ Homeland was shut out.
A day after nabbing three Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, Breaking Bad earned three Globe nods: drama series, drama actor for Bryan Cranston and a first-ever Globe nomination for Aaron Paul in supporting actor. The show has never won a Golden Globe.

Golden Globes surprises and snubs: So many newbies, but no Homeland (again)

Breaking Bad is up against Downton AbbeyThe Good Wife, House of CardsMasters of Sex for drama series.Cranston will face off against Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan), Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex), Kevin Spacey (House of Cards) and James Spader (The Blacklist).

SAG nominations surprises and snubs

After getting snubbed by the Emmys and SAGs, Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany scored a drama actress nod. She's up against Julianna Margulies (Good Wife), Taylor Schilling (Orange Is the New Black), Kerry Washington (Scandal) and Robin Wright (House of Cards).In comedy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine made a big splash, landing a series nomination and an acting nod for Andy Samberg. The show is up against The Big Bang TheoryGirlsModern Family and Parks and Recreation.
In the film races, Captain PhillipsGravity, Philomena, Rush and 12 Years a Slave will vie for drama picture honors. American Hustle, HerInside Llewyn Davis, Nebraska and The Wolf of Wall Street are on the comedy/musical picture shortlist.The 71st Golden Globe Awards airs Sunday, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC.Check out the nominees below.
