Yankee Don

Dick Carsey leaves New York for the Barbary Coast. On the train going west, Carsey confuses the room number on his ticket and accidentally wakens Juanita, a beautiful, young Mexican woman. All during the rest of the trip, Carsey attempts to apologize to her, but she refuses to listen. At their destination, however, Carsey earns Juanita's respect when he chases a group of bandits away from the stage and prevents them from stealing a construction company payroll. Tenny, the company's owner, offers Carsey a job laying a pipeline across the land of Don Juan's ranch. Don Juan has refused Tenny access to his land, and Tenny is hoping that he will shoot Carsey for trespassing, which will send the don to jail and allow Tenny free access to his land. Don Juan's men do not shoot Carsey; instead they capture him and bring him to the don. There, Carsey learns that Juanita is the don's daughter. Juanita tells her father that Carsey is the man who stopped the stagecoach robbery, and the don agrees to let him go. Impressed by the don's behavior, Carsey offers to work for him. His first plan foiled, Tenny sends one of his men to San Francisco to bring back a large group of hoodlums. Meanwhile, Carsey organizes the don's men into a gang. Carsey and Juanita plan to marry, and to get the money he needs for a ring, Carsey asks Tenny for the money he had promised him for laying the pipeline. Don Juan sees Carsey's horse in front of Tenny's company and assumes Carsey has been double-crossing him. He forbids Carsey to enter his house, but Carsey forces his way in and begs Juanita to let him explain. She refuses to listen to Carsey's explanations, but when Tenny's men attack, Carsey helps defend the ranch, and he and Juanita are reconciled.

Amish Stud: The Eli Weaver Story

1 hr 25 mins
While he's out fishing with his Mennonite friend Jeremiah Peters on the morning of 2 June, Amish Eli Weaver receives a message via a call to Jeremiah's cell phone that Eli's wife, 29-year-old Barbara Weaver, has been found shot dead in their bed. While the Amish elders want to deal with the issue solely within their community, the Wayne County Sheriff's Department is forced to investigate in the murder having taken place in their jurisdiction, the two investigators being Detectives Bruce London and Mike Maxwell. What is subsequently shown is the current investigation interspersed with flashbacks of Eli and Barbara's life, which Eli admits to the investigators was not always perfect. Those flashbacks show that prior to their marriage, Barbara wanted to marry for romantic love, which is not the Amish way. Eli seemingly wanted the same; he was the black sheep of his family in not always adhering to Amish strictures. London and Maxwell have their theories of who the murderer is; they suspect Eli, who isn't reacting like a typical grieving husband and father, but they know they'll have problems finding evidence because the Amish Eli will have no digital footprint; and the community's sole telephone is a public one for emergencies, usable by anyone. They hope that the unofficial traditional Amish communication network, rampant gossip, will provide some clues. They find that some talk emerges in the form of a collection of women not in the community who were a part of Eli's secret life as the Amish Stud.
