It seems that the best British farces come from mocking that land's rather stuffy customs. This picture takes that course and provides pleasing comedy by not taking itself seriously. Buchanan is a soldier who finds himself the inheritor of his ancestral home. His ideas of nobility are

quite different from those of his snobbish relatives, and a clash erupts when Buchanan prefers the company of the locals to that of his aged aunts. When the new lord is hit over the head with a suit of armor, he dreams of what his knightly ancestor would have done to his enemies. He wakes up and

promptly sees his relatives out the door. This was released in England six years earlier and ran 19 minutes longer.
