He is one of the ten best-known people on the planet. He has many names...and millions of faithful followers around the world. We name him Father Christmas, or Santa Claus, the large jolly man in red with white hair, a white beard, and red clothing, who rides on Christmas Eve on a magical sleigh pulled by his trusted reindeers. But who is this character that has become so popular at this time of the year? Is he the same over the world? Why does he live in such a remote place? Traditionally, Christmas is a time for the family, for exchanging presents and for great indulgent food. It is the biggest holiday in the United States, an extra-exciting moment for both children and adults. While traditions differ around the world, everywhere Christmas is celebrated with loved- ones, in its own unique way. Cities transform into magical wonders of twinkling lights and festive decorations. People are full of joy. Whether you are young, or just young at heart, Christmas around the world is the stuff of dreams. And the story of Santa, is one that has always fascinated me. Let me share it with you.
