The first feature film directed by playwright Tom Donaghy, THE STORY OF A BAD BOY was screened as part of the 1999 San Francisco Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. Set in the early 80s, this is a witty coming-of-age coming-out story about a sexually-confused Catholic boy called Pauly. Feeling stifled by his nagging mom (Julie Kavner - the voice of Marge Simpson) and macho dad (Stephen Lang), he falls hopelessly in love with Noel, a college student who's visiting his school to direct a musical production of 'The Scarlet Letter.'
