The Never Bell
The Never Bell is a dark fantastical short that explores the naive wonders and crooked chimeras of an innocent imagination awakening. Nell lives in a house perched on a cliff at the end of a windy barren road with her silent sister Kalliope, her playful dog Smokey and her best friend Fang (a ferret). Ruled by a mother who used to be full of laughter, all is now forbidden: dancing, exploring, laughing. The biggest NO of all hangs in the center of their house: a pristine porcelain bell looming just out of reach from Nell's boisterous imagination. Harsh punishments have beaten the innocent curiosity out of Nell's sister Kalliope, but Nell's continue to bubble. One rainy night, they bubble over to disastrous effect.
