Dull British comedy set in Paris in 1904 and starring Day as a lovely singer and frequent visitor to Maxim's who becomes embroiled in the personal life of a henpecked doctor. Through a series of increasingly hard-to-take circumstances, the doctor finds himself forced to pass off the sexy

singer as his wife, which leads to many routine mistaken-identity situations. For some reason this film took five years to reach American shores, and by that time producer-director Korda had gone on to bigger and better things. At the time he made this low-level farce--simultaneously filmed in

French--he was just beginning the British phase of his career, working with low budgets and poor technical help. (Korda had previously produced and directed in Hungary and the US.)
