The Car Reviews

THE CAR is a laughable rip-off of Steven Spielberg's television movie "Duel" in which a driverless black car terrorizes a small southwestern town. Brolin is the troubled deputy determined to destroy the Detroit demon, which has killed both his boss (Marley) and his girl friend (Lloyd). The majority of the movie is dominated by scenes of the vehicle overrunning defenseless townsfolk while the inept police department tries to figure out what to do about it. The climax shows the apparent death of the demonic auto as it plunges over a cliff, exploding into a fiery ball. Good score, OK crash sequences, and lots of unintentional laughs are the only reasons to sit through this movie.
