A young artist in his studio sits in front of a blank canvas and is looking for ideas for the plot of a future painting. His thoughts are constantly interrupted by the annoying buzzing of a fly. Having caught it, the artist, however, does not kill the fly, but releases it out the window. But the fly comes back and at some point sits on the mirror. In an attempt to catch her, the artist looks at his own reflection, and the idea comes to him to paint his self-portrait.
