The Bund

This short documentary is about the German-American Bund, a Neo-Nazi organization in the United States which existed from 1936 to 1941. This 10 minute documentary tells about the creation of the Bund, its activities such as setting up 25 summer camps all around the country and organizing large scale rallies from New York to Chicago to Los Angeles. This film contains archival footage and speeches of that time. The film is based on the events before the second world war, before the invasion of Poland by the Nazis. It tells how extremist groups such as the German-American Bund can influence large amount of people to spread the idea of racism and anti-religious sentiments in a big democracy such as the United States. 80 years after the end of the Bund, The world still has groups such as that, not just in America but in many countries around the world, even in the director's native country of India. The director wants the viewers to understand how these groups influence people into such ideas and he wants them to learn from history to avoid such groups in today's world.
