Teen Witch Reviews

Louise (Robyn Lively), a bright but unpopular high-school girl, has a crush on Brad (Dan Gauthier), the handsome star of the football team, but her chances of winning his affections are nonexistent. All this changes, however, when Louise visits the home of Serena (Zelda Rubinstein), a local fortune teller, who explains that some of Louise's ancestors were witches and that she will "come into her powers" in one week, on her 16th birthday. In this way the teen witch is born, and Louise proceeds to use her new powers to exact revenge on those who have done her wrong and to win popularity and Gauthier. One keeps waiting for something interesting to happen in TEEN WITCH, but it never does. Notwithstanding its supernatural elements, the film is basically a standard teenage love story (a squeaky clean one at that) with several unmemorable musical numbers thrown in.
