An inept women in prison picture with a science fiction twist. The evil Bantor (Ross Hagen), magistrate for the Sovereign (Lindy Skyles). and right hand man of the even more evil Inquisitor (Aldo Ray) is waging war against the defiant planet Arous. Taura (Sandy Brooke), an intergalactic entrepreneur who's employing Arousian mogwarts (shaggy little locals) to mine valuable crystals, runs afoul of Bantor when he tries to claim her goods in the Sovereign's name. Bantor then tries to molest her, and in the ensuing struggle she mutilates his hand. He retaliates by shipping her off to a women's prison ship full of women in short-shorts and skimpy tops, run by leather-clad lesbian Warden Exene (Marya Grant) and her sadistic trustee, Muffin (Dawn Wildsmith). Taura runs afoul of Mike (Susan Stokey), but the two women eventually bond and lead the other women in a revolt against their tormentors. "Untamed, uncaged, and unleashed...in space," promised the ads for this ultra-low budget, early effort by Fred Olen Ray. Made using sets and costumes left over from other productions, it doesn't even deliver the tacky t&a thrills promised by the setting and ridiculously revealing prison "uniforms." The movie ends with the promise of a sequel called "Chain Gang Planet," which has not yet materialized.
