Out fishing one day, painter John Hammond and his son Chris come across Bert Hillman, the foreman of a local ranch. He and his ranch hand are searching for a wild dog that killed one of their sheep. They find the animal and kill it, along with one of its puppies, but after they leave Hammond and his son discover another puppy still alive. They take it home and call it Rocky. John believes that a dog descended from sheep-killers will himself become a sheep-killer someday, but he gives his son a chance to raise and train the dog, hoping that he can train the killer instinct from it. Unfortunately, local farmers have reported an epidemic of sheep-killings, and they suspect that Rocky is responsible for them.

Question: Is Milo Ventimiglia (Jess) going to return to Gilmore Girls any time soon? Answer: Let's ask Amy Sherman-Palladino: "I hope so. Milo is taking over the world. He's his own little conglomerate. He has more meetings than I ever had in my whole life. The boy does nothing but take meetings. So, we're just playing it by ear. The door has always been open to Milo and always will be because we just love him to death." I think a lot of it hinges on the success of his WB mid-season drama The Bedford Diaries, which I must get around to watching. KNOCKOUT CASTING

Gilmore Girls rebel Milo Ventimiglia has been cast as Rocky Balboa Jr. in the upcoming sixth Rocky film, per the Hollywood Reporter. He assumes the role from Sylvester Stallone's real-life son, Sage, who played the part in Rocky V.

Less than two weeks after announcing that he would star in a sixth Rocky film, Sylvester Stallone is attached to revisit one-man killing machine John Rambo in a third sequel to 1982's First Blood. In Rambo IV, Stallone's Vietnam vet, now living as a recluse, is forced to take justice into his own hands when a girl goes missing. And by "take justice" we mean "stand up without getting winded."

Joe's producers have quite a sadistic...

Joe's producers have quite a sadistic streak. I had guessed that maybe they'd send Rocky's and Nathan's ex-girlfriends to talk to Anna, but sending her mother to talk to them? Cruel genius. And mom Halina described the result so eloquently: "There is some discomfort in this talking." Ole Rocky's pat "dreamer" answers (garr! Now the very word makes me want to stick pineapples in my ears!) don't work so well on Mama. Especially when she skipped the small talk and asked "Have you ever cheated?" No romantic waterfall can save you now, soap boy. (BTW, what the &!#@ does "With passion comes chance" mean?!?) Of course, mild-mannered Nathan aced this tricky task. Hard to imagine him in the Air Force. After their final dates, however, I really thought Anna would pick the guy who made her heart pound over the one who pleased her mom. Then again, I get the feeling she's made that choice before and has been burned by one too many pretty boys. A qua
