For medical student Emma (Fanny Leander Bornedal), the job as a night watch-woman at the forensic medicine department seems like the perfect opportunity to finance her studies-and to confront the demons of her past. But it doesn't take long before gruesome murders occur again at the facility, clearly reminiscent of the notorious serial killer Wörmer (Ulf Pilgaard), the man who once targeted her parents. Torn between family trauma, the gloomy atmosphere of the morgue, and the increasing danger, Emma and her boyfriend Frederik (Alex Høgh Andersen) follow the mysterious clues. While Wörmer sits in his cell, cold and smug, and her father Martin (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) suffers from depression and addiction, Emma suddenly finds herself caught between two fronts - and in the middle of a nightmare that rekindles the shadows of past crimes.
