This underbudgeted programmer fails to deliver on its promise of hardcore urban action. A meteorite falls to Earth outside a government compound in Colorado and an alien device inside transforms an unsuspecting motorcyclist into a bellicose, armor-clad rider (Kim Koscki) on a laser-firing vehicle. Sgt. Kirby (Charles Wesley) is assigned to lead an investigative squad under CIA agent Wood (Michael Fachetti). At the compound, psychic Dr. Lee (Cassandra Ellis) senses a foreign presence, and the group comes under repeated attack by the deadly biker, who is impervious to their weapons. All the while, it's clear that Lee knows more about the purpose of their mission than she's letting on. With the help of UFO buff Ditko (David White), Kirby discovers an alien sphere hidden in an underground bunker, and realizes that Wood knew about the sphere all along — in fact, his real assignment is to protect at all costs. An invincible motorcyclist on a bulletproof bike could have made for good, pulpy fun, but MURDERCYCLE squanders its clever promise with a series of repetitive battle scenes in which the anonymous alien biker drives around while soldiers shoot at it ineffectively. Director-cinematographer Tom Callaway, who's shot dozens of low-budget pictures, makes excessive use of slow motion and stages much of the action in unatmospheric broad daylight. The script is a stew of recycled sci-fi conceits that don't really add up to much and the generic characters (almost all of whom are named after comic-book writers and artists) are saddled with dialogue that would daunt far more skilled performers.
