Messiah of Evil Reviews

Incoherent horror film about a woman, Hill, searching for her father, a surrealist painter in a small California coastal town that has become overrun with flesh-eating zombies. Katz and Huyck, who enjoyed great success as the writers of George Lucas' AMERICAN GRAFFITI, stooped to ripping off George Romero's low-budget masterpiece NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. When Romero's sequel, DAWN OF THE DEAD, achieved such success in 1979, DEAD PEOPLE was rissued as RETURN OF THE DEAD, distributors going so far as to steal the advertising copy from Romero's movie: "When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth." Romero sued and won.
