Fiona loses her job once again in favour of an audition where she doesn't get the role. When she discovers that her mother long ago received a letter from her biological mother-Fiona's grandmother-who apparently lives in Ireland, she persuades her to take a holiday together to Ireland. They rent a cottage in a small coastal town. It becomes an eventful stay where Fiona encourages her mother to search for her real mother, while her mother challenges Fiona to embrace the Irish way of life-and perhaps most importantly, the local pub owner, Liam.
