Jack and the Beanstalk Reviews

Abbott and Costello are unleashed in fairy-tale land when Costello sells the family cow to Abbott, a crooked butcher, for five magic beans. Costello plants the beans and overnight a giant beanstalk climbs to the clouds where an evil giant--onetime prizefighter Baer--lives, along with a talking harp and a hen that lays golden eggs. Climbing to the giant's elevated domain, Abbott and Costello try to rescue a prince and princess, Cogan and Alexander, from his evil clutches. Slapstick chases ensue that are among the comedy duo's best. Songs include: "I Fear Nothing," "He Never Looked Better in His Life," "Darlene," and "Dreamers Cloth," all by Lester Lee and Bob Russell.
