Going Home

Nineteen-year-old Jimmy Graham (Jan-Michael Vincent) has grown up to be an angry young man based on his experiences, including not having either his mother or father in his life as he was growing up. When he was six, Jimmy saw his mother, Ann Graham (Sally Kirkland), die before his eyes; she was killed by his father Harry Graham (Robert Mitchum) in a drunken rage. Jimmy's testimony helped put his father away. Jimmy's anger often manifests itself in passive-aggressive behavior. When Jimmy is rejected from joining the military due to medical reasons, he, at a loss, decides to search out Harry, whom he knows has now been paroled. He finds Harry living in a trailer park in a community close to their old Pennsylvania home. Harry is also in a relationship with a woman named Jenny Benson ( Brenda Vaccaro), who also lives in the trailer park in a Winnebago. Jenny knows all about Harry's past. While Harry wants to be whatever Jimmy wants him to be in his life, Jimmy exhibits that passive-aggressiveness toward Harry, being generally cordial to him to his face while doing things behind his back intentionally to hurt him. Partly as Jimmy sticks around longer than he says and as their life is generally going better than expected, Harry, who seems to have owned up to his role in killing Ann, maps out a life for him and Jenny to include Jimmy if he wants. In the process, Jimmy will need to confront both his issues with his father, and the overall anger in his life which is hindering him from finding his own path.

Amish Stud: The Eli Weaver Story

1 hr 25 mins
While he's out fishing with his Mennonite friend Jeremiah Peters on the morning of 2 June, Amish Eli Weaver receives a message via a call to Jeremiah's cell phone that Eli's wife, 29-year-old Barbara Weaver, has been found shot dead in their bed. While the Amish elders want to deal with the issue solely within their community, the Wayne County Sheriff's Department is forced to investigate in the murder having taken place in their jurisdiction, the two investigators being Detectives Bruce London and Mike Maxwell. What is subsequently shown is the current investigation interspersed with flashbacks of Eli and Barbara's life, which Eli admits to the investigators was not always perfect. Those flashbacks show that prior to their marriage, Barbara wanted to marry for romantic love, which is not the Amish way. Eli seemingly wanted the same; he was the black sheep of his family in not always adhering to Amish strictures. London and Maxwell have their theories of who the murderer is; they suspect Eli, who isn't reacting like a typical grieving husband and father, but they know they'll have problems finding evidence because the Amish Eli will have no digital footprint; and the community's sole telephone is a public one for emergencies, usable by anyone. They hope that the unofficial traditional Amish communication network, rampant gossip, will provide some clues. They find that some talk emerges in the form of a collection of women not in the community who were a part of Eli's secret life as the Amish Stud.
