Final Justice Reviews

Joe Don Baker is a deputy sheriff in a small town on the Texas-Mexico border. When two Mafia hit men head south after a murder in Dallas, they kill the sheriff, and Baker confronts them in a showdown, killing one and capturing the other. The federal agent on the case tags Baker to escort the prisoner, Venantino Venantini, to Italy to stand trial for crimes there, but the crime lord for whom Venantini works, Rossano Brazzi, orders the plane to be put down on Malta, where the prisoner can be helped to escape. Baker is surprisingly good, playing his role with his tongue firmly in his cheek, though no one else brings anything to their parts in the blood-spattered proceedings. Still, the film is a pleasant enough time-waster for folks who like action, and the Maltese locations are well photographed.
