Fans of the CHAMELEON franchise won't be disappointed by the this second sequel, which chronicles the further adventures of a DNA-improved policewoman of the future who's part falcon, part chameleon, part coyote and all fox! Although her human co-workers at the Incorporated Bureau of Investigations regard Kam (Bobbie Phillips) as a "sub" (substitute human), that doesn't stop her boss, Ben (Doug Penty), from falling for her. Ben tries to protect his genetically enhanced honey from danger, but volatile Kam often disobeys orders and battles criminals she's only supposed to be tracking. Her company loyalty is tested when IBI orders Kam to locate missing teenaged scientist Tess (Teal Redmann), who's on the lam because mercenaries have killed her father and stolen her lab's Dark Matter experiment. Unaware that Tess's untested theories could result in the implosion of the universe, arms dealer Armacost (Peter Lamb) sends out his own sub, Kane (Alex Kuzelicki), to retrieve Tess. Armacost plans to use Tess's expertise to develop a super weapon. Tess tests Kam's loyalty to IBI by asking her to go AWOL and help her locate eco-criminal Mongoose (Shane Briant), who possesses the only bomb powerful enough to neutralize the Dark Matter. Then Kam discovers that Kane, who's part bat, part wolf, part lizard and all bad, is her long-lost brother. Mongoose captures Kam, who turns the tables on her tormentor and escapes. Kane kidnaps Tess, and Kam must simultaneously sort through her conflicting loyalties and race to rescue Tess before Kane uses the Dark Matter to destroy the world. Kam's repetitive quest seesaws between excitement and stasis, but the dazzling Phillips insures that this comic strip-flavored super-heroine adventure remains sufficiently lively.
